To a New Space and a New Journey

Updated: Jan 27, 2023

I'm not sure what was holding me back, but I saw owning a site as something huge and one that I needed to do so many things to get what I desired. The whole idea was far-fetched—it wasn’t close to home (even though I once created a website for a Spanish class project).

Anyway, for my site, I opted for an easy (but not-so-easy option) for a start. So I created it with Wix from start to finish (no code zone). I actually started the creation on my phone (with the mobile app) and then I continued with a laptop to work on the features that were not available on mobile.

For now, I'll consider myself a "mobile" person so if you're creating something for my kind, make most of your features mobile friendly, okay?

Back to my site story...

So what changed? Why did I finally decide to create it?

Well, I had some "me time", and among other things, I decided it was about time I got this done. Also, I got frustrated because the platform I was using took off a mobile feature I dearly needed…and then I started thinking about what was preventing me from getting a blog.

Update on the app's feature: They brought it back months later. Glad they listened to us.

Hear me out: I know there's no connection between a non-existent mobile feature and creating a website but not having the feature got me thinking. Good thing is, I looked around and did a bit of reading, and I found Wix. So, I downloaded the Wix mobile app (Wix Owner), and bingo! They had what I wanted (writing and editing blog posts on mobile). Hopefully, they don't take it off too.

I’ve been wanting a blog since 2020 (and I actually got a blog profile on a platform in 2021, but that wasn't my end goal). To be honest, I had almost everything in place for this blog of mine. In July 2020, I had written a draft for the About page, and since then, I constantly open my notes app to update the categories I looked forward to writing about.

But they were all sitting in my Notes app, and I was waiting for the right time. Honestly, I don’t think there’d have ever been a right time.

I realise these past few weeks, I’ve been thinking a lot about “not waiting for the right time". Maybe, it’s because I now understand that it’s just a matter of starting and taking it from there. It's been almost two years and if I hadn’t decided to start, I would have just been where I was.

Here I am now, with a website and a blog page. I’m really glad I took this step and created it. I got the site and copy ready in 2 days (but I kept editing and testing as the days went by). I just couldn’t stop. I had little sleep during that time, but it was all worth it.

And here you are, reading my very first blog post on this new space. For you, my dearest reader, as excited as I am about my new space, I’m not sure how to put into words how glad I am that you’re here with me. Just know that I appreciate you being here.

For now, there are 7 blog post categories available, and I’m looking forward to publishing once a month. Kindly head to the Blog page to have a fair idea of the categories if you haven't done that yet.

The picture below indicates where you have to click.

Also, don't forget to fill the Subscribe Form on the Home page to get notified anytime I publish a new piece.

I’m keenly looking forward to our journey ahead in this new space, and I hope you are too.

Cheers🥂
